Forget your bog-standard, slightly rowdy Dubai Friday, the brunch at Brasserie Quartier is an elegant display with exquisite French food and free-flowing champagne.
Aplty named the Versailles Decadence Brunch, the day certainly lived up to its name. On arrival – after you’ve taken your #ootd photo on that marble staircase – you’ll be shown to the champagne bar on the first floor of the St Regis, given a welcome drink of fluted Tattinger and offered warm, buttery escargot to wet your whistle.
With both an à la carte menu and a lavish buffet to choose from, there are dishes for all eventualities. Table service kicks off with fresh-from-the-oven baked goods, like piping hot croissants and blueberry pastries. Ed and I then made our way to the salad bar to get some greens it before ordering main courses of the menu; we both had a delicious plate of beef cheek, all washed down with a glass of red – French, of course. If nothing on the à la carte menu takes your fancy, the brunch at Brasserie Quartier also boats live pasta station, a roast dinner station and plenty of other food to help yourselves to.
The dessert room is as opulent and indulgent as the rest of your day at Brasserie Quartier: a white chocolate fountain, donuts, hand-crafted cakes, a gelato trolly and the most succulent of sticky toffee puddings (Ed’s absolute fave) are on offer. And if by some miracle you still have room, don’t miss the cheese room, it was really ‘grate’.
