Brunch Review: Aji, The Palm

Aji Saturday Brunch

Aji, you had me at ‘Peruvian Japanese fusion’.

The stunning new Club Vista Mare, located on The Palm Jumeirah, has opened its doors, bringing with it seven hot new beachfront restaurants. Aji (pronounced ah-hee), boasts the most ridiculously stunning interiors, from crystal chandeliers in the dining area to graffiti-adorned walls in the drinks lounge. But I spent my Saturday soaking up the sun (and the cocktails) on Aji’s outdoor terrace, overlooking the eastern side of the island.

The Saturday brunch, Machu Pisco, runs from 12pm to 7pm and will cost you Dhs150 for non-alcoholic and Dhs250 for food with three pisco cocktails. On the set menu you’ll find 12 mini dishes, all of which shall be delivered to your table. I actually loved every single thing I ate, but favourites include the ceviche, gyozas, mini tacos and sushi rolls. One of the things I liked best about this brunch is it won’t leave you feeling the need to loosen the belt; all the food is fresh, with hardly any carbs, and only one mini cheesecake to indulge in for dessert.
