Palm Jumeirah’s Bidi Bondi is the perfect haunt for pub grub, feel good food and hangover munchies.
Located on the Shoreline Apartments, the Australian sports bar is, in a nutshell, unpretentious, well priced and has a pretty good menu to boot. The eatery is decked out in flat screen TVs, showing every sport imaginable from cricket to WWE to rugby, which isn’t exactly to my taste, but it certainly keeps the boys entertained whilst the gals have a good old natter.
Nachos with the usual toppings and a plate of calamari was our first port of call. We wolfed down every last morsel and enjoyed every bit of it. The boys on the table are Bidi Bondi regulars, frequenting the pub during most weekends for various sporting events, so they knew exactly what to do order. One order of their best selling Thai Green Curry, the biggest portion of fish and chips you’ve possibly ever seen and two rounds of Ring of Fire burgers were our choice of mains. Again, everything got polished off (apart from the girls who couldn’t quite shovel in all the bread from the burger bap), and although we were absolutely stuffed, we were too tempted by the dessert menu and ended up ordering a couple of sticky toffee puddings to share.
