Dinner Review: Fish Beach Taverna, The Westin

Fish Beach Taverna

This is one of the most stunning restaurants to grace Dubai’s gastronomy scene for a while!

Fish Beach Taverna has just opened at The Westin slash Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort (you can walk from either hotel entrance), and boasts the most magical Sanotrini-style interiors you could imagine. Pristine white and azure blue decor, tables right on shoreline (you can practically dip your toes in the ocean from your seat) and a banging menu to boot – this is easily going to be the most popular eatery during Dubai’s cooler months.

We sat down to fresh bread dipped in olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice with a sprinkling of salt and pepper, washed down with a bottle of sparkling rose. For starters you can choose from a selection of traditional Turkish cold mezze platters, like yoghurt mixed with cucumber, garlic and fresh mint, and grilled eggplant dishes. Then you’ll move onto the hot plates, where you should definitely order the shrimps, grilled octopus and calamari. You can also choose from Fish Beach Taverna‘s catch of the day, which they’ll simply pop straight on the bbq for you – does it get any fresher than that? Thanks to the generous portion sizes, we were way too full for dessert, but that just gives me more of a reason to go back!

Our first visit to this restaurant with family and friends. Somewhat a dissapointment.
Starters were very small portions and the main course arrived cold. Excuse, low on staff in kitchen. Not our problem.
Need to get their act together fast or visits will drop. I certainly will not be back too soon.
Having said that location is very nice.

Really? That’s such a shame! I guess you always have to take press dinners & reviews with a pinch of salt, as the restaurant will always be on their best behaviour (hence why I had a lovely time). Hope they redeem themselves for your next visit though.
