“Home Sweet Home”

I’ve been living back at home for just over a year now, and I’m not proud of it. But with the rocketing rent prices in Dubai, I’ve found that it’s actually quite normal to still live with your parents at 23… In fact, I even know people who are 30 and still live with their parents…!

I’m dying for a place I can call my own, and for that reason I have major house insecurities (is that even a thing? Because I’ve just made it a thing…). But last week I was approached by one of the most respected and popular magazines in the UAE to do an ‘at home’ feature with me, and obviously I would have to be concussed to say no.

*Uh oh*. Time to (finally) get my arse into gear and stop dwelling on the fact that I don’t have my own apartment, and start working with (not to mention be a little more grateful for) what I do have… I took myself down to some of my favourite home shops and treated myself (and my room) to a few little trinkets. It’s also amazing what happens when you actually decide to stop hoarding, and start clearing out all that junk you’ve been holding onto for 10 years (you should see the ‘to sell’ pile currently lurking in the corner of my house).

I never really thought I’d post about interior design (let alone my shoddy old bedroom), but one of my favourite bloggers (Harper and Harley) has just started to post a lot more home decor, inspiring me to do the same! I’ve also been surfing the pages of Pinterest for some cool ideas, so I hope you take a little inspo from what I’ve done so far!

Good post. I learn something totally new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon everyday.
It’s always helpful to read through content from other authors and practice something from other web sites.
