Business Lunch at Peyote DIFC

The other week I visited DIFC’s new fine dining Mexican restaurant, and boy was it good.  

We ventured downtown to try out the new Rapido business lunch at Peyote. If anyone is familiar with DIFC, Peyote has taken over the old Wheelers restaurant, and has been given a total five-star revamp, completely transforming the space into a light, airy, modern eatery that would beg my attendance everyday if I worked in that area of town.

Like any good Mexican restaurant, we started with guac. Lots and lots of guac complemented by a side order of raw veggies, which also sat in a delicious pool of more guac – so far, so, so good. Each table is also presented with a selection of homemade dipping sauces, from burned tomato salsa to a super hot chilli salsa, which, needless to say, Jessi and I polished off twice and asked to be topped up.

Once we’d devoured every last morsel of guac, we dove into the second course: I had the salmon ceviche tacos and a mini chicken fajita, which I am honestly salivating over just thinking about, and Jessi, who I should probably mention is a vegan, ordered the quinoa salad and deep fried avocado fajitas. Yep, you that right. DEEP FRIED AVOCADO FAJITAS. Already winning at life, our final course were the mains. I had the mouthwatering 24-hour braised lamb with Mexican style rice (both unreal) and Jessi went down the vegan root with a sweet potato dish.

The lunch menu also boasts a promotional offer on coffee and churros that you simply cannot refuse. So, after our food, we sipped on hot coffees whilst dunking our warm, sugary churros into a sea of oozing chocolate and caramel sauce. The perfect way to end the most delicious day.
