Come the 16th of August, Harvey Nichols Dubai are offering the perfect treat to refresh your whole look.
All you have to do to update your beauty regime this season (after you’ve booked your appointment), is pack up all your products and head over to Harvey Nichols Dubai! Fill your make-up bag with all the bits and bobs you use everyday to paint your face, and HN will do the rest. The make-up artists are on hand to offer a consultation and a make-up trial – totally free!
They begin by going through your existing make-up bag and checking if each product is right for your skin type, skin tone, face shape etc. They will ask you everything from what you think you might need help with, to what you totally want to re-vamp all together. Then they will go on to recommend the perfect product to suit your needs, plus give you a whole make-over to see what it looks like on your skin. I had the pleasure of working with the lovely and very talented MUA, Hala – ask for her if you get a chance!
In my current make-up bag:
If you’ve seen any of my beauty posts, you’ll know I have super oily skin and really large pores. And as a natural blonde, my eyebrows are always a total mission to try and colour to my face, so we knew exactly what we were focusing on.
Apart from the weekends, I hardly ever wear make-up – a day at work calls for a simple lick of mascara and some eyebrow pencil if needs be. I don’t wear anything on my face at all, and when I do, I like a really light coverage with a super silky foundation. These are the kind of points the make-up artist will work off, so if any of that sounds similar to your own beauty regime, then keep reading!
Then came the fun part…
Skin: Bobbi Brown Mineral Powder in Light, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 35 & Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder.
Brows: Bobbi Brown Eyebrow Pencil in Ash
Lips: Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 501 (this is a gorgeous nude colour which dries with a matte finish)
Eyes: Tom Ford Eye Primer, Tom Ford Eye Shadow (we used a few different colours to create some depths. They were all browns, golds and other earthy tones, which are totally amazing), Tom Ford Eyeliner.
Brushes: We used a few Bobbi Brown brushes, but mostly we used Tom Ford brushes, which Hala said are her absolute favourites – but beware they are deffo on the pricer side of beauty.
Everything the make-up artist used & recommended stayed like a dream – I didn’t want to take my make-up off at the end of the day! The only product I wasn’t loving was the Tom Ford eyeliner – I have really oily eye lids (just to match the rest of my complexion……) so eyeliner always melts into the crease of my eye. I was told the Tom Ford eyeliner wouldn’t…but it did *sigh*.
At the end of the session Harvey Nichols very kindly gifted me a few of the products which they thought worked really well. So if any of you suffer/deal with very oily skin and large pores, here is what you NEED in your beauty regime: Bobbi Brown Mineral Powder and Eyebrow Pencil, and the Giorgio Armani Foundation and matte lip gloss.
