If you’re after a hearty paella and a glass of sangria (or five), book a table at El Sur’s Saturday brunch.
This Spanish staple is one to add to your little black books. The contemporary restaurant, located on the lobby level of The Westin, has a delicious tapas and paella brunch that boasts dishes as traditional and tasty as any hispanophile could hope for.
The menu offers cold cuts, patatas bravas and Padrón peppers aplenty to start. Mains couldn’t be anything other than a big, hearty sharing dish of paella, which come in three options: veggie, seafood or chicken. Dessert was the only surprising course: there wasn’t a churro insight, but the restaurant more than made up for it with a creamy cheesecake and moist (sorry, had to) almond cake. Whilst the weather is nice and cool, book a seat on the outdoor terrace and sit back whilst the waiters pop round every 15-minutes to top up your glass of sangria. Oh, and don’t leave without giving the #PorronChallenge a go!
