Spoken like a true Chandler Bing fan, “could I BE any more obsessed with gingham right now?”
I found this little number in Zara – the Holy grail of the high-street – and have been wearing it on repeat since. Tackling two trends in one with the oversized sleeves and the playful print, this summer statement is pretty, preppy and perennially a favourite in the fashion world.
The gingham gangs on the runway were lead by House of Holland, whose checked bardot dresses and gypsy tops came with ruffles. Lots and lots of ruffles. Prada put on a very Prada-esque performance with a rich mixture of patterns – including, of course, gingham -, Carolina Herrera did what she did best and swathed the print all over her iconic dresses with billowing skirts, and even Versace had a go, adorning slinky dresses and knit tops with colourful little squares.
It’s time to set your florals aside because picnic table chic is the new print to covet.
