Here at Design & Conquer we love our meat and we love our dairy, but situated in Dubai’s art hub Alserkal Avenue, this plant-based eatery is here to dispel any rumours that vegan food can’t be totally delicious.
With long benches made of reclaimed wood, potted plants dangling from the ceiling amd a menu of items that are almost too pretty to eat, we headed to healthy hipster haunt Wild & the Moon to check our their new lunch offerings. All ingredients are organic and gluten free with plenty of vegan options, too. The cafe is also all about sustainability, so not only are there no plastic straws, they’re also aiming to be completely waste-free by 2020 – double win in my books!
My sister and I, being the greedy buggers we are, decided to create a big spread with plenty of different dishes so we could try as much as possible. We started off with the the rawliflower superfood salad and Thai curry, but the dish that really did it for me were the vegan tacos – taco ’bout good food! I attempted to wash it all down with their infamous green matcha latte, but as an inexperience coffee drinker, this was a bit much for me, so we moved on to desserts… Wild & the Moon have just launched their vegan ice creams, so, naturally, we had to try a scoop in every flavour. They were absolutely delish – chocolate was my fave – but the dessert that truly stole my heart was that glorious loaf gluten-free, sugar-free banana bread topped with oozing vanilla cashew cream *drool*.
