Whether you’re making a confounded pilgrimage into Veganuary, you’re a veteran of plant-based dishes, or you’re just a carnivorous foodie on the hunt for new haunts, here’s my insider guide to the best vegan restaurants in Dubai.
Comptoir 102, Jumeirah Beach Road
Housed inside a stylish boho boutique on Beach Road, the menu at Comptoir 102 is awash with vegan, gluten-free and low-cal dishes, all made with organic and raw produce. Whilst it’s not strictly vegan (I had scrambled eggs for breakfast), the plant-based dishes you simply must order are the cheese board and almond milk protein shake – thank me later.
Brambles, Metro Central Hotel, Barsha Heights
This Barsha Heights-based eatery promotes a healthy diet through its hearty menu of veggie, vegan and freshly-sourced produce, featuring an extensive menu of vegan tacos, ‘glow bowls’, avocado pizza, quinoa moussaka, smoothies and Design & Conquer fave, the kale brownies. Who said you couldn’t have your vegan cake and eat it?
Bounty Beets, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi
Vegan brekkie treats have become something of a trend of late and nowhere does them more tastily – or Instagram worthily – than Bounty Beets. Newly-opened in Le Meridien Mina Seyahi (you may remember is predecessor Gourment by KCal), the vegan waffles and and pancakes are so bloody delicious they have to be seen, and tried, to be believed.
Wild & the Moon, Alserkal Avenue
Fresh, inventive, and colourful fare can be found at Wild & the Moon. A perennial fave for a hearty plant-based menu – the tacos and curry are a must-order -, make sure you save room for dessert, because the banana bread with vegan ice cream (made in-house) is another dish not to be missed.
