Checking In At: Waldorf Astoria RAK (Part 2)

Our second day at the Waldorf Astoria RAK was a chilled one comprised of two things I do best: eating and lying horizontal by the pool.

Anyone who has stayed at the hotel will, like me, most probably have a love affair with the bathrobes, which you can buy from the hotel gift shop for Dhs500. I spent the early morning lounging in bed, drinking tea, reading a book and pretending I was on an endless holiday.

We headed down to Qasr Al Bahar later in the morning, which, thanks to Ramadan timings, was serving breakfast from 6.30am to 12.30pm. The buffet breakfast was probably the most upsetting part of the trip simply because we were both still so full from dinner that we only managed one plate each, compared to our usual (albeit rather greedy) three or four plates. From croissants to pancakes and live omelette stations to full fry ups, the breakfast spread had everything you could want and them some – including pork!

The rest of the day was spending lounging by the pool, of which there are two – a larger family pool and a smaller one just for adults. We then reluctantly packed our bags and heading back to Dubai.

Everything about this hotel was perfect, and being only 1 hr & 15 mins away from Dubai there’s absolutely no excuse not to check it out. And next time, I shall definitely be back for longer than a night. Thank you so much to Waldorf Astoria for having us.
