Everything you need to know about horse riding in Dubai…
Where do you go horse riding in Dubai?
There are plenty of options, including Sustainable City and Jebel Ali, but I ride at Al Jiyad Stables, near Bab al Shams, about a 30-40 minute drive from Dubai.
Do you have to pre-book?
Yes, and you can do so by click here or calling 050 599 5866.
Is it open to all abilities?
Yes, when you book your session they will ask what level you are (beginners, intermediate or advanced). From that, they will decide which horse you’ll ride. The instructor will also make sure you’re comfortable with the speed they’re going at. You can walk, trot or canter at any time.
Do you need riding equipment?
No, you don’t need anything apart from yourself. They will provide riding hats and boots. (I do recommend buying your own gloves, as the reigns might give you blisters)
What do I wear?
Anything you don’t mind getting dirty, sweaty and a bit wet when you shower the horse.
How long is the hack?
How much does it cost?
Al Jiyad Stables have just upped their price to Dhs180 per hour.
Where do you ride?
Every group will have their own guide who leads them out in the desert, from there you basically have free reign – pun always intended.
