Yep, you read that right! Here’s how you can enjoy a fine wine tasting at Dubai Airport…
Le Clos is always my first port of call when I’m in the airport; Duty Free is great, but if you’re after a proper selection of fine wines, sold to you by members of staff who seriously know their sh*t, you need to make a pit stop at Le Clos. And with six airport-based shops to choose from, you can swing by no matter what terminal you’re flying from.
Ok, now for the good stuff. Yes, the secret is out. You can actually enjoy a totally free of charge wine tasting at Dubai Airport. Le Clos choose their top eight bottles of the moment (usually four whites, four reds), and invite customers to come and try out the wines before their flight. All the sales reps in the shop have completed up to level three of their wine and spirit education, so if you’re a bit of a grape juice novice then don’t fear, the super helpful staff can you talk you through any bottle on the shelf and can also help with recommendations.
Don’t have time to swing by the shop? That’s also also fine. You can buy your wines online and someone will hand deliver them to you in the airport – for both departures and arrivals! And last, but certainly not least, if you’re searching for a last minute present, buy a bottle of vino and get a personalised name or phrase inscribed on the glass.
No pre-booking is required. Le Clos is open in Dubai Airport 24/7. For more information visit www.leclos.net
